[H-PAD] Faculty Network for Student Voting Rights Kick-Off this Thursday, 4 pm [JOIN US!]

Friends of H-PAD,

As you may remember, in the spring we launched the *Faculty Network for
Student Voting Rights*. It has really taken off!  We now have several
hundred faculty members around the country, and strong partnerships with
the leading national organizations that  students' electoral empowerment.
One of those groups, the SLSV Coalition, sent out the alert below about our
national web-launch on September 4.

*All H-PAD members are encouraged to Zoom in at 4 pm Eastern this Thursday.

Find out about how *you* can work with students to increase turn-out, and
mobilize your administrators to defend their right to vote.

Faculty Network for Student Voting Rights is launching!

The Faculty Network for Student Voting Rights
<https://facultyforvotingrights.org/> is a group of dedicated faculty
members who are pushing the 1.3 million college and university faculty to
assist in boosting the youth vote. Founded and led by faculty members, the
Faculty Network is dedicated specifically and solely to urging faculty
members to play a consistent role every year, across disciplines. Filling
this gap allows us to:

   -

   Support faculty in work that could be perceived as controversial
   -

   Provide resources to use in teaching
   -

   Create a structured space for faculty to collaborate
   -

   Utilize faculty members’ positioning to connect with young voters


We are so excited to be working with them to create this space for faculty
and we invite you and all of your faculty members to join their first
official Back-to-School Kickoff for faculty on September 3rd at 4 p.m. EST.

important, and how you can get involved.
