*On Gaza : Urgent Phone Calls needed Today!*

**

Responding to President Biden’s ambiguous threat to cut off weapons to 
Israel, if its military proceeded with the offensive in Rafah, *House 
Republicans have introduced a bill to block Biden from freezing arms 
transfers.*  If passed, this would be an unprecedented attempt by 
Congress to prevent human rights from even being considered in weapons 
transfers.

This could become an exclusively partisan initiative by House 
Republicans.  However, we have frequently seen, how ostensibly 
“progressive” Democrats have signed on to egregious measures, when it 
comes to Israeli treatment of Palestinians.

*Please call your Representative and ask that the Congressmember vote NO 
on Representative Calvert’s “Israeli Security Assistance Support Act*. 
It is beyond irresponsible for Congress to forbid considerations of 
human rights to effect weapons transfers.

And take the opportunity to urge your Congressional Representative *to 
call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, restoration of UNRWA funding, 
and the provision of urgently needed humanitarian aid.*
