Dear H-PAD and RHR Supporters,

Radical History Review (RHR), in conjunction with Historians for Peace and
Democracy (H-PAD), is again organizing radical history sessions for the
2023 American Historical Association Annual Meeting on January 5-8, 2023,
in Philadelphia. *Please join us by organizing a panel, roundtable,
discussion session, or another event with us!*

*This will be the third set of AHA Annual Meeting sessions RHR and H-PAD
has organized*. The first occurred at the 2020 AHA meeting in New York and
comprised 11 sessions; click here
<https://www.historiansforpeace.org/aha2020/sessions/> for a full listing
and information. Covid-19 prevented us from sponsoring sessions for 2021.
For the 2022 AHA, we initially organized ten onsite sessions, but, because
of the Covid resurgence, we transformed eight of these into virtual
sessions (two had to be cancelled). See here
<https://www.historiansforpeace.org/aha2022/radical-history-review-rhr-historians-for-peace-and-democracy-h-pad-sessions-at-the-2022-aha-meeting-final-report/>
for a report on our 2022 sessions.

*We believe that the AHA sessions we sponsored in 2020 and 2022 were very
successful* in stimulating scholarly and political discussion, and we look
forward, with your help, to a full set of in-person sessions at the 2023
AHA.

*To be clear, the RHR is an affiliate organization of the AHA, and the
affiliate sessions we organize are ours. *They are located at the AHA
conference, held during the conference, and listed and publicized through
AHA conference channels and materials (as well as own). *But if you want
to organize an affiliate session you need to do it directly through us,*
not the AHA, and we decide on the sessions we sponsor.

By the way, if you have a radical history session that is already accepted
by the AHA through its regular processes, we would love to co-sponsor it to
give it wider exposure.

If you want more information on the above, want to explore the possibility
of an affiliate session, or want to submit a proposal, please contact us at
skotna at sage.edu. And please hurry; the final submissions have to be
completed and submitted by the end of May.

For the RHR Affiliate Conference Committee,

Andor Skotnes
